Youth Protection Training Information

The BSA requires all registered adults to take Youth Protection Training (YPT) every 2 years. Our troop has set a policy that requires any adult, registered or not, that wants to accompany us on any campout or trip to have completed this training. This training can be done in a classroom setting or online through the MyScouting website which requires that you create a member ID in order to access the E-Learning courses including YPT. Once you have completed the YPT course please print out a copy of the certificate and present it to the Committee Chair or Scoutmaster and we will note your training in our records.

Click on the link below to take you to a video that will provide directions on creating a member ID in MyScouting.org which will provide you access to E-Learning and Youth Protection Training along with other valuable training courses and information.

The video states that you can get to the MyScouting link from the scouting.org website. You can also go directly there by putting "myscouting.org"  in the address bar of your browser.

Once you have created your member ID and have successfully logged in to the myscouting.org site you have the option to update your profile and associate it with the Longhouse Council #373. This can be done by selecting the My Profile tab at the upper left part of the home page of myscouting, org.

Click the link below to see a demonstration on creating your member ID.
